Roccacasale is a town of about 800 inhabitants, at 450 m. above sea level, in a very sunny panoramic position and has some shops, bars, post office and also municipal parking lots. In the lower part of the village, reachable by car, there is a shopping center, a pharmacy and a renowned hotel with restaurant. In the village there are paths that from different levels allow excursions of varying difficulty and length on the surrounding mountains of the Morrone / Majella National Park with forests, plateaus, springs, equipped shelters as well as interesting remains of ancient settlements. Especially in summer are organized many cultural and recreational events that attract many people. The nearby town of Sulmona is also reachable by bus within minutes , using the car you can arrive in 5/10 minutes to the train station and to the ” Pratola – Sulmona ” gate of the A25 highway . The big city of Pescara with the Airport and the beaches of the Adriatic Sea are at 50 ‘, the major Ski Centres in Abruzzo at 40’, Rome is a 90 ‘ by car ( more than 2 hours by train or bus ) .

Il paese ha poco meno di 800 abitanti, è a 450 m. slm in posizione molto soleggiata e presenta alcuni negozi, bar, ristoranti, ufficio postale e parcheggi comunali; da diversi livelli partono sentieri che permettono escursioni di varia difficoltà e lunghezza sulle montagne del Parco Nazionale Morrone/Majella con boschi, altipiani, sorgenti, rifugi attrezzati oltre ad interessanti resti di antichi insediamenti. Soprattutto in estate fervono nel paese attività culturali e ricreative di interessante livello. La vicina città di Sulmona è raggiungibile anche in autobus in pochi minuti; usando invece l’auto si arriva in 5’ all’ingresso “Pratola-Sulmona” della A25. I maggiori Centri Sciistici (Rocaraso, Ovindoli, ……) a circa 30’, l’aeroporto della città di Pescara e le spiagge del Mare Adriatico a 60’, Roma è a 90’.
