Winter sports in general are the order of the day on the Abruzzo mountains.

An extensive network of excellent ski resorts has developed to serve to enthusiasts coming to Gran Sasso, Maiella, Sirente-Velino and the Abruzzo National Park mountains as well as to Cinquemiglia and the Carseolani and Simbruini mountains.
