17th century Baronial Palace restored in an ancient village and immediately habitable.
In the heart of the ancient village of Ofena (AQ) stands an elegant palace with the year 1616 engraved on the stone portal. The building stands in the area where once stood the Palace of the Duke of Ofena, a feudal figure of the town, who inspired one of the most fascinating novellas by Gabriele D’Annunzio. The current architecture preserves the beauty of the noble residences of the inner Abruzzo: a sober but harmonious façade, punctuated by windows framed in stone and two wrought iron balconies that embellish the main floor. The arched portal, in carved stone, is adorned with a central decoration and the engraved date, a silent witness of the centuries gone by. Ofena is a small municipality in Abruzzo with about 500 inhabitants in the province of L’Aquila at 530 meters above sea level, within the Gran Sasso National Park. The ancient town is a fortified medieval village with the characteristic tall houses side by side for defensive purposes. Palazzo Baronale del 1600 restaurato nel Borgo antico e subito abitabile.
Nel cuore del borgo antico di Ofena (AQ) sorge un elegante palazzo che reca inciso sul portale in pietra l’anno 1616. L’edificio sorge nell’area dove un tempo si ergeva il Palazzo del Duca di Ofena, figura feudale del paese, che ispirò una delle novelle più affascinanti di Gabriele D’Annunzio. L’architettura attuale conserva la bellezza delle dimore nobiliari dell’Abruzzo interno: una facciata sobria ma armoniosa, scandita da finestre incorniciate in pietra e da due balconcini in ferro battuto che impreziosiscono il piano nobile. Il portale arcuato, in pietra scolpita, è ornato da una decorazione centrale e dalla data incisa, testimone silenziosa dei secoli trascorsi. All’interno, il palazzo offre 6 camere da letto con 4 bagni attigui, un’ampia cucina e varie sale e soggiorni con due grandi camini, ideali per accogliere momenti di convivialità e relax. Alcune stanze conservano ancora pregiati pavimenti decorati con mosaici in graniglia di marmo, a testimonianza del gusto e del prestigio dell’epoca. Ofena è un piccolo Comune in Abruzzo di circa 500 abitanti in provincia di L’Aquila a 530 s.l.m, all’interno del Parco Nazionale del Gran Sasso.
